Minister Shukova today held a working meeting with the mayors and directors of the public utility companies of the municipalities of Kocani, Vinica, Cesinovo – Oblesevo, and Zrnovci. At the meeting, they discussed the current activities to clean up the illegal dumpsites and the progress made in establishing the regional waste management system in the Eastern and North-Eastern regions.
Information was exchanged about the challenges faced by the local authorities, and the proposed measures to overcome them were discussed in order to fully establish and put into operation the regional waste management system in these regions.
It was also discussed about the possibility for the municipalities to apply to the open call of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning for the procurement of equipment needed for the realization of these activities.
