“Consultations with civil society organizations, the academic community, citizens, municipalities, representatives of national institutions, young people, and international teams of experts, during the preparation of the Spatial Plan of the Republic of North Macedonia 2021-2040 as a strategic document, allow us, all together, to create the vision for the development of our country for the next 20 years,” – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Hristina Odzaklieska, in the keynote address of today’s workshop, where sector studies were presented within the framework of the creation of the new Spatial Plan of the country.
The preparation of the Spatial Plan of the Republic of North Macedonia 2021-2040, as the highest national strategy for long-term overall development, is in the drafting phase of a documentation basis, which includes the preparation of studies from several areas that the Plan processes.
According to the Methodology for the preparation of the Spatial Plan, it is foreseen to prepare studies from 20 different areas, of which 16 have already been prepared. In addition to the presentation of the sectoral studies, in the presence of all the working teams, their goals, planning solutions, measures and activities will be discussed for an easier understanding of the specific aspects of each area and finding the most appropriate solutions for the use and protection of space in the country.
