The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Kaja Shukova met today with the Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Michaela Telatin. The meeting discussed the dynamics of the realization and continuation of the planned activities for cleaning up the small dumpsite (Lot 3) with hexachlorocyclohexane (lindane), as well as rounding off the entire process of cleaning up the site, with the inclusion of the Multi-Partner Environmental Fund for OHIS, managed by UNOPS.
They also discussed the real time frame of realization and fulfillment of expectations for the continuation of the activities.
Given that it is a project that is of high priority for our country, at the meeting Minister Shukova expressed readiness to support efforts to mobilize additional funds to complete the process of cleaning the small dumpsite and provide sustainable sources of funding for the big dumpsite in the circle of OHIS.
They also discussed possible future collaborations in priority areas in the direction of environmental protection.
