Skopje, 2 February 2026 - The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia to the Republic of North Macedonia, Iveta Hricova.
At the Hoxha-Hricova meeting, the traditionally good and friendly relations between the two countries were highlighted, as well as the common determination to further promote them, especially in the context of the European integration of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Minister Hoxha expressed gratitude for the continuous and principled support that the Republic of Slovakia provides to the Republic of North Macedonia on its path towards membership in the European Union, emphasizing that European integration is one of the key pillars of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The role of the Republic of Slovakia in fostering public and institutional debate on the country’s European perspective was particularly welcomed, as was the support for the National Convention on the European Union, initiated by the Embassy of Slovakia in Skopje, as an important mechanism for inclusive dialogue and exchange of experiences in the EU accession process.
Minister Hoxha presented the priorities of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning within the framework of the EU integration process, with a focus on the efficient use of IPA funds.
The interlocutors agreed that the meeting represents a good basis for identifying concrete opportunities for future cooperation and for further strengthening the partnership between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Slovakia.
