Job Description

  • Management of the functioning of the Ministry and the constituent bodies

  • Environmental management and planning (Project cycle management)

  • Participation in the preparation of legal acts, harmonization with the EU, screening process, and negotiations

  • Environmental management in the direction of sustainable development and protection of air, water, soil, and natural resources from pollution (in correlation with the policies of sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture, etc.)

  • Development of policies, programs, and projects in the field of environment and sustainable development

  • Coordination of institutional and infrastructure projects in the field of environment, with special emphasis on water and waste management

  • Coordination of institutional projects related to sustainable development in Macedonia

  • Preparation of work tasks, tender dossiers, analyses, reports, and other working documents in the field of environment

  • Facilitation of workshops, seminars, trainings, public debates, etc.

 

Izet Mexhiti was born on February 8, 1977, in Skopje, where he also completed his secondary education at the “Zef Lush Marku” Gymnasium. He is of Albanian ethnicity.

  • Master’s degree in Public Management, Faculty of Economics, Skopje

  • Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Faculty of Economics, Financial Management and Accounting

  • 2024: Appointed Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning

  • 2023: Founded the Democratic Movement and became its president

  • 2020: Elected Member of Parliament in Electoral Unit 113

  • 2009: Re-elected as Mayor in the municipal elections

  • 2005: Elected Mayor of the Municipality of Chair

  • 2003–2005: Economic Associate at Macedonian Post

  • 2001–2003: Taught economic subjects at the secondary school “Arseni Jovkov”

 

Implemented Projects and Activities

  • Successfully implemented over 100 projects in Chair

  • Promoted cooperation with the civil sector and various associations

  • Improved infrastructure, roads, lighting, and supported cultural and spiritual events

  • Outstanding contribution to amplifying the voice of Albanians in Skopje
