Skopje, 23 January 2026 – The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Christophe Le Rigoleur, at which they discussed the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the field of environment and support for the European integration process.
At the meeting, Minister Hoxha expressed gratitude for the continuous support that France provides to the country, especially in the implementation of reforms and the use of IPA funds. He emphasized that the priority of the Ministry is the establishment of a sustainable solid waste management system and a significant improvement of the wastewater treatment infrastructure, within the framework of the implementation of the Sectoral Operational Programs for Environment and Climate Action through IPA II and IPA III.
Special emphasis was placed on the role of the French Development Agency and the regional project for environmental justice, which contribute to strengthening institutional capacities, inter-institutional cooperation, and the rule of law in the field of environmental protection.
Both sides confirmed their commitment to further deepening cooperation between North Macedonia and France, in the spirit of European values, sustainable development and environmental protection.
