Skopje, 30 March 2026 The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and the Trade Union Organization of the Ministry today took a significant step towards advancing the labor rights of employees, by signing the first collective agreement of this kind.
The agreement foresees a gradual increase in employees’ salaries within the Ministry, by 7 percent starting from March 2026, with additional increases in 2027 and 2028. This is a clear signal that the work and dedication of employees are being recognized and valued.
At the same time, improvements in the working conditions of all employees are also ensured, through the harmonization of salaries for other categories in accordance with legal regulations, as well as the introduction of a range of specific benefits: allowances for night and shift work, regulation of travel expense reimbursements, work on public holidays and overtime work, jubilee awards, as well as strengthened mechanisms for protection against harassment and promotion of safety at work.
Minister Muamet Hoxha, following the signing of the agreement with the President of the Trade Union, Trpe Deanoski, and the President of the Trade Union Organization Martina Spasovska Toceva, stated that this agreement represents the result of joint commitment, dialogue, and mutual respect.
The agreement provides greater clarity and certainty regarding rights to paid and unpaid leave, contributing to a better balance between professional and private life.
