On the occasion of Earth Day, the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, today carried out tree-planting activities at two locations in Skopje – at the Gynecological and Obstetrics Hospital in Cair and at the “Fidani” kindergarten.
A new tree was planted in honor of all children born on 22 April, with a symbolic message that every new life comes into the world with the right to a clean and healthy environment. The action continued at the Fidani kindergarten, where together with the youngest children, the message that environmental awareness should be built from a young age was reinforced.
Minister Hoxha emphasized at the events that climate change and pollution are not issues of the future, but challenges that society faces today.
The Ministry continuously works on systemic solutions—from the transition to green energy to measures for air quality and waste management.
At the same time, Hoxha appealed to the entire public – institutions, the business sector and citizens – to actively get involved, because the transformation towards a sustainable society requires mobilization at all levels.
“We do not have a spare planet. This is our only home,” Hoxha stated.
