The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, and Deputy Minister Ane Lashkoska participated in the celebration marking the fifth anniversary of the declaration of part of the Shar Mountain as a National Park.
In his address, Minister Hoxha emphasized that this anniversary reaffirms our shared commitment to preserving the country's natural heritage as a strategic priority. He noted that the establishment of the National Park was the result of the joint efforts of public institutions, environmental experts, civil society organizations, and all nature enthusiasts.
Minister Hoxha congratulated the Public Institution "Shar Mountain National Park" for establishing a professional management system and for the achievements made in biodiversity conservation, field monitoring, the development of the ranger service, and the promotion of sustainable tourism.
Minister Hoxha stressed that the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning will continue to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international partners in addressing the challenges posed by climate change, forest fires, illegal logging, unauthorized construction, illegal hunting, and other threats to the country's natural resources.
The celebration of this anniversary is both a recognition of the achievements accomplished over the past five years and an incentive to further strengthen cooperation in safeguarding the exceptional natural values of Shar Mountain.
