Skopje, 25 April 2026 The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, today joined volunteers in a major cleanup action at the Matka Canyon site, one of the most significant natural treasures in the country.
During the action, the minister emphasized that institutions are working intensively on systematic solutions, but that the key to long-term success lies in the personal responsibility of each individual.
“Today we are carrying out an action to collect waste, but the main goal is to send a message – it is high time that responsibility toward nature becomes a habit for us. As a Ministry, we are investing in green infrastructure, but the strength lies in all of us as citizens. Clean nature should be our standard, not a rarity,” the minister emphasized.
The Ministry expresses its gratitude for the cooperation and support to the Municipality of Saraj, the collective waste management actors, and all volunteers who, through their personal example today, demonstrated how the environment should be protected.
This action is part of broader efforts to protect natural values and to promote environmental awareness among citizens.
