The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, held a bilateral meeting today in Vienna with the Federal Minister for Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management, Norbert Totschnig. The focus of the meeting was on three key areas: water management, nature protection, and the green transition.
Minister Hoxha presented priority investments in the water sector, and also outlined the process of establishing a modern regional waste management system. Referring to the strengthening of the protected areas network, Hoxha pointed out that Austria has experience in managing national parks that could be valuable for our country.
Both sides reaffirmed the value of cooperation through European Union instruments and expressed their common interest in deepening the partnership in the field of environmental protection. Minister Hoxha particularly emphasized the importance of the Law on Climate Action, which is in the process of adoption and which will establish a comprehensive framework for addressing climate change.
The meeting between the two ministers took place within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Austria by a government delegation led by the Prime Minister Mickoski.
