Vienna, 22 April 2026 As part of the official visit to Austria, a plenary meeting of the two government delegations was held today in Vienna, during which the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, addressed the priorities in the process of green transformation.
Hoxha emphasized that the country is facing inherited environmental challenges and that the focus is on addressing them through long-term systematic solutions and capital investments.
Among the priorities presented to both delegations were regional waste management centers and the construction of wastewater treatment plants, as concrete steps towards closing non-compliant dumpsites and reducing water pollution.
Austria was pointed out as a model and a key partner in the process of harmonization with European standards, and Minister Hoxha expressed confidence that the high-level governmental visit would encourage concrete steps in bilateral cooperation – for the benefit of the environment and citizens in both countries.
