Istanbul, 05 May 2026 — The Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Muamet Hoxha, participated in the Ministerial Roundtable of the 5th International Water Forum held in Istanbul, Republic of Turkiye. In his address, he emphasized the importance of sustainable water resource management in the context of the current geopolitical situation and the increasingly pronounced climate crisis.
Hoxha informed that North Macedonia actively follows European standards in water management, including the implementation of the European Union’s Water Framework Directive.
The Minister emphasized the necessity of regional cooperation, noting that no country can address these challenges on its own. “We need joint solutions based on data, exchange of experience, and coordinated action. This is not a choice, but a necessity,” Hoxha emphasized.
