Plant for energy generation from biomass put into operation at the Shtul’s University

2I welcome the decision of the University of Southeastern Europe in Tetovo to promote the use of renewable energy sources, by which practically one of the actions of the Plan for low-emission campus is realized and it is expected to contribute, though symbolically, to climate change mitigation, which requires ecologically innovative approaches and technologies, said Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Nurhan Izairi on the official event on of marking the 13th anniversary from the foundation of the University and putting into operation of the plant for energy generation from biomass.

 

- The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planningas national focal point for climate change sees partner in the academic community in the implementation of activities in the area of climate change, which is very complex and requires partnerships with different stakeholders. Education and enhancement of knowledge of climate change are among key factors for coping with it, pointed out Minister Izairi in his address.

University will phase out the crude oil, and use biomass for heat generation instead, i.e. plelets and contribute significantly to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
