Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Company Ecocentar 97 DOOEL Skopje and the State Environmental Inspectorate inform the public that the tank with Vinyl Chloride Monomer has arrived safely in Germany and the burning of this dangerous substance is expected. Namely, according to the advertisement received from the company Ecocentar 97 DOOEL Skopje and the State Environmental Inspectorate which supervised the whole process, procedure for safe export and transportation of Vinyl Chloride Monomer (“VCM”) from the places and production plants within AD”OHIS” Skopje, it is completely finished.
On September 29, 2020 in accordance with legal regulations for transport of this type of hazardous waste, an announcement was made that the export would be performed and the competent institutions and border crossings of Northern Macedonia were notified, transit countries (Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria), as well as the importing country – Germany.
On 02.10.2010 in the presence of representatives of the State Inspectorate of Environment, safely with the help of a suitable crane was loaded the tank in which was poured Vinyl Chloride Monomer (“VCM”) on a vehicle owned by the transporter DENIS Gal – Bulgaria, which has all the licenses for international transport of this type of hazardous waste. On the same day, the customs export procedure started and ended, and around 5pm the transport vehicle loaded with Vinyl Chloride Monomer tank left the territory of North Macedonia.
The transport took place without any problems and on 06.10.2020 the transport vehicle with the tank poured with Vinyl Chloride Monomer (“VCM”) arrived at the terminal in Germany where the customs procedure was completed, and then headed to the combustion engine SUEZ Sonderabfallgesellschaft mbH in Schkopau, Germany. A reception was held the same day and the tank was safely unloaded at the combustion engine. According to the burner schedule in the future we expect feedback when Vinyl Chloride Monomer (“VCM”) will be destroyed.
The activity is part of the project for Safe removal of chemical substances from locations and production plants in the circle of AD “OHIS” Skopje.
