Nuredini – Rakhmanin: Reducing soil pollution requires an integrated approach and linking of agriculture and the environment

Today’s online meeting of Minister Nuredini with the Regional Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Vladimir Rakhmanin was focused on strengthening and extending cooperation between the two institutions.

The talks highlighted the connection between environmental problems and agriculture. Starting from the fact that an integrated approach and connection of the two areas is needed, the possibilities for inclusion of FAO in the new programming period of the EU IPA 3 (2021-2027) were considered, especially in the EU section for Prespa. It was also discussed the involvement of FAO in the implementation of current and future projects of the Facility Global Environment and the Green Climate Fund. Minister Nuredini pointed out the problems with soil pollution as an opportunity for joint action, industrial pollution and the possibility of using and solving these problems through the Green Climate Fund with which we have already established cooperation.
